A non-fiction about nuns at about this time is <a href="http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Galileos-Daughter/Dava-Sobel/e/9780140280555/?itm=2" rel="nofollow">Galileo's Daughter</a>. This shows letters from the famous scientist's daughter who was placed with her sister in a convent. (Perhaps you have reviewed it, RAnn, but I didn't see it in a search of your blog.)
