I would love to read a book about the Texas Hill Country - one of my favorite areas to visit. <br /><br />It is possible that the churches that you mentioned are Catholic. There are many Catholics living in the Texas Hill Country. Some parishes in Texas were originally formed with a population based on their ethnic background, such as German, Irish, Czech, etc. I still see this in my own area of Texas as we have some parishes in our area with a large number of parishioners families are German, Czech, etc. My own parish has a large number of families with a Czech heritage.
