It takes getting used to, and deciding how you want spend your time. And the cruise lines aren't all alike. You can check out all sorts of stuff at CruiseCritic. For starters you might go there and read reviews of the cruise you just took.

One bit of advice: get off the ship at every port, and don't get back on until you are tired of the port.

Some reasons I like cruising:

Unpack once.

You travel while you sleep and wake up in a new place.

I can work from my laptop 24 hrs a day on the ship.kkollwitzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17691145638703824456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13263155.post-18813127186393652882012-08-05T07:39:33.970-05:002012-08-05T07:39:33.970-05:00sounds like y'all had a great timesounds like y'all had a great timeReneehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08739029410584701609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13263155.post-19807254724690620712012-08-01T06:46:08.140-05:002012-08-01T06:46:08.140-05:00We went on a cruise to Alaska a few years ago (thi...We went on a cruise to Alaska a few years ago (this one Royal Caribbean) and the service was tremendous, the inside cabin exactly as you describe. We went on a few shore trips, and came to the conclusion that we'd be better off to arrange our own. It was a great trip, actually but I have absolutely zero desire ever to set foot on a cruise ship again. My main gripe with a cruise is that you are theoretically taking a trip TO a place, when really all you're doing is visiting a ship. I wanted to spend time on shore, get away from the lights, see the northern lights, you know--see ALASKA. But mostly I saw a cruise ship. I'd rather go one place and really experience it.Kathleen Basihttp://www.kathleenbasi.com/blognoreply@blogger.com
