A Voluptuous Romance

The Lady Flees Her Lord The Lady Flees Her Lord by Michele Ann Young

My review

rating: 3 of 5 stars
Like most romance novels (and with the bare-chested guy on the cover, what else could this be?) this is a matter of boy meets girl, sparks fly, something intervenes and then...

The heroine, Lucinda, is a non-skinny woman who is married to a cad who married her only for her money. He is verbally, emotionally and physically abusive. Lucinda has next to no self-esteem left. Then one evening her husband tells her they are going to their country house for the weekend. Her husband's friend who is there, makes it pretty clear that it will be a weekend of sexual interaction with a lot of people. She runs away from home that night and ends up living in a rental house on the property of the hero, who is immediately smitten when he sees her, since he likes his women on the larger side. I never knew there were so many words that could describe a heavy woman as what this author used at various parts of the book. By book's end we realize that her husband's friend isn't the bad guy she thought him to be, but I won't tell you more than that.

I won this book on Amy's blog

Thanks Amy, and thanks to the author, Michele Ann Young who autographed the book.

This is a general market romance novel with steamy sex scenes between unmarried people.
