Mailbox Monday

Mailbox Monday is one of those weekly memes a lot of book bloggers do. Basically, we list what came in the mail this week, bookwise. So, let me gather them up, head to Amazon for links and....

I got Sunday Brunch from Bookmooch. I don't remember how it ended up on my wishlist, but it is about five female African American lawyers who do brunch every week to "trade tales about their love lives, law firms, and the Lord".

Broken Parachute Man is a review book sent to me by Elizabeth McCurry at Phenix & Phenix publicists. It is by a doctor and is a novel that deals with the pharmaceutical industry. It should be different from my usual reads.

I've already read and reviewed Age Before Beauty, which is about a young woman who has recently had her first baby. I started adding discussion questions to my reviews, so if you read the review before it had the question, go back and read (and answer) the question.

Finally, I got Red White and Blue. The main character is the best friend and chief of staff of the first female president. She is a good Christian surrounded by the usual political characters of flexible morality. So far it has been a good read. Check back for my review, and for the First Wildcard post of the first chapter.

Mailbox Monday is hosted by Marsha at The Printed Page. Check her post for links to everyone else's.

  4. I enjoyed Sunday Brunch, my review is up. I'm about to start Broken Parachute Man. Its not my usual read--I read the blurb in a hurry and thought it was non-fiction when I requested it. Sometimes I've found some real winners from mistakenly accepting things, so we'll see.
