BBAW: Reading Meme

Do you snack while you read? If so, favorite reading snack? Sometimes.
Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of
writing in books horrify you? Maybe horrify is too strong a word, but I still remember teachers saying not to write in books
How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ears? Yes
Laying the book flat open? Yes
Fiction, Non-fiction, or both? Both, but more fiction
Hard copy or audiobooks? Hard copy; audiobooks take too long
Are you a person who tends to read to the end of chapters, or are you
able to put a book down at any point? I prefer to put a book down when I'm DONE but can put it down any time, if necessary
If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop to look it up right away? Nope, I'm big on context clues--and rarely come across a word I don't know.
What are you currently reading? Well, I'm answering this a week early, so I'll have read several more books by the time this publishes
What is the last book you bought? The Passion of Mary Margaret--unless you are talking about that haul my five year old is getting from Scholastic.
Are you the type of person that only reads one book at a time or can
you read more than one at a time? Very unusual for me to have more than one going at a time, but sometimes it happens.
Do you have a favorite time of day and/or place to read? I have a chair on the back patio.
Do you prefer series books or stand alone books? Depends on my mood--but I find many series get old before they are over
Is there a specific book or author that you find yourself recommending over and over? No
How do you organize your books? (By genre, title, author’s last name, etc.?)
I have one stack for books I've promised to review or otherwise post about. I have several other stacks of incoming books that I haven't read yet. I have a stack of books that have been promised to certain people and I have a stack that gets hauled to my giveaway box at work. The few books that are long-term residents just get put on the shelves.

  1. Interesting. Many of my answers were the same as yours. I am an avid reader; my parents owned a bookstore when I was young. I had free reign as long as I was careful with the books:)
