Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival

Please take time to check out the Advent Calender  here and my first post for it here--a list of links for families with kids.  I also invite you to read my review of Walking with God, a book about the Bible.

I'd like to welcome everyone to Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  We are a group of Catholic bloggers who gather weekly to share our best posts with each other.  To particpate, go to your blog and create an entry titled Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  In it, highlight one or more of your posts from the past week that you believe would be of interest to Catholic bloggers---whether they are posts reflecting on spiritual matters or posts about antics of Catholic kids, or anything in between.  Use that post to link to your original posts, as I linked to the Advent posts above.   Come back here and enter the URL of that post into Mr. Linky.  Finally, go visit other participants, and leave comments!  If you want a weekly reminder to post, join our yahoogroup.

  1. Hi RAnn,
I don't see Mr. Linky yet, is he on his way?

In the meanwhile, we had a bit of a Snowball Fight, it is fun to watch!

  2. Hi RAnn,

Thank you for your faithful hosting!

    I can't believe it's Saturday already!

The week was consumed with trying to get a new computer up and running. I did little else, proving once again, I'm no geek, though I had one handy. Thanks to my genius son-in-law I'm back on course.

Sorry, I didn't do much reading or commenting last week but I hope to visit everyone this week.

  3. I also can't believe it's Saturday. It feels more like a wednesday to me. Also, that is a very funny snowball fight to watch.

  5. Kind of a slow blogging week here. Though readers might appreciate the brevity. ;-)

Had fun with this last week. THanks!

  6. I'll add one more person who can't believe it's Saturday. It really does feel like a Wednesday, doesn't it?

This week the theme was "Advent Journey" at the Well. We featured music, art and poetry with the Journey in Winter theme, talked about Dorothy Day, addictive beans, communicating with those with dementia, AND we have our first ever Catholic GIVE-AWAY CONTEST sponsored by The Catholic Company!

    Stop by!

  7. Hi RAnn, thanks for hosting this meme so faithfully. It's great fun to visit everyone. I have an awesome photo video of the aurora borealis over Norway among other things.

  8. Posts only a catechist could love:

One interminable post about Mary & Elizabeth, including a fabulous illustration of John the Baptist upside down in Elizabeth's tummy.

Followed by a shortie about the difference between a Regular Bible and a Lecture Bible.

  9. LOTS going on at Bedlam or Parnassus last week! Posts include the pope's Verbum Domini, St. Francis Xavier, the definitive statement on homosexuality and Christianity, advice from Dracula to America, translation theory and poetic form, Plato, objective reality, the meaning of words, and if I am not mistaken, the kitchen sink might be in there, too.

    everyone else has posted.

RAnn, God bless you for hosting!

  11. Some thoughts of Fr John Hardon SJ & JPII on Christmas & Suffering at Zeal this week...Mainly because it seems like I met so many suffering people this wk. Of course, the fact that I work in an ER might account for that in part!
