Second Chance Brides: My Review

Second Chance Brides (Texas Boardinghouse Brides, Book 2)

Second Chance Brides is the second book of this Christian romantic series set in a small Texas town.  Shannon and Leah came to town in the last book; each was to be the mail-order bride of the marshal, but neither realized that they had been lured there by the cousins of a man who needed a wife.  When the marshal married his old love, he insisted that his cousins pay the girls room and board until they married or became self-supporting.  It isn't long until Leah falls in love with a local guy, but just before the wedding, something comes up...  Shannon also falls in love, but it seems that he doesn't love her....

While this book was a quick enjoyable read, it is written for a specific audience--those who like sweet, religious Christian fiction.  The plot was predicable, the characters good Christians and it is when they start living their Christian faith even more that they are able to live happily ever after.   Grade:  B
