No Light In This Lighthouse: Marty gets a bright idea to build a lighthouse, but ends up rushing the job when he sees that there are ships being lost while he works! (Based on the Parable of the Lamp Under the Bowl from Matthew 5:14-16)
My Comments:
When looking at materials for my kids, I have to think of two things: the first is whether it is good for them, and the second is whether they will like it. Obviously sometimes it doesn't matter whether they like it or not, but when it comes to entertainment, it doesn't matter how good the message, if the kids don't like it, they won't get the message. Unfortunately, while Adventures in Booga Booga Land has an interesting and noble concept--to show how the parables of Jesus are translated into real life (or at least imaginary real life) the reality is that when I gave my six year old this DVD, she sat down to watch it but lost interest and when we cleaned out the DVD cabinet a few weeks later, it was on the top of the donation stack. Grade: D (at least in my house)
