Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival

I'd like to welcome everyone to Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  We are a group of Catholic bloggers who gather weekly to share our best posts with each other.  To particpate, go to your blog and create an entry titled Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  In it, highlight one or more of your posts from the past week that you believe would be of interest to Catholic bloggers---whether they are posts reflecting on spiritual matters or posts about antics of Catholic kids, or anything in between.  Come back here and enter the URL of that post below.  Finally, go visit other participants, and leave comments!  If you want a weekly reminder to post, join our yahoogroup.

As you read this I am tromping around New York City with my teen daughter's Girl Scout troop.  On our agenda are St. Patrick's, along with the churches by Ground Zero.  We plan to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, see Mary Poppins, visit the museums by Central Park, go up in the Empire State Building and to the Top of the Rock.  You might even have seen us on the Today Show, wearing our Saints shirts.  Of course we'll do a little shopping too.  Have fun without me and hopefully the bad guys won't spam this up since no one is on the delete key.

  1. I hope you are having an awesome time in NY!

I didn't write a post on this, but could you all say a prayer for my cousin's wife who passed away on Thursday from cancer? She was only 56. Thank you all so much.

  3. Hope you're having a great time in New York, RAnn! Thanks for hosting Sunday Snippets week after week.

Carol, I'm praying for the repose of your cousin's wife's soul, and that God will comfort your cousin and family in this time of sorrow.

This week, I blogged about how the weather changed my usual Saturday routine (guess that's why it's called a routine, because it is what I usually do),
I re-posted a thought on the 2nd Luminous Mystery from one of my old blogs,
and, of course, I shared my booklist.

  4. Enjoy NY, RAnn!

This week we listened to Fanfare for the Common Man, looked at the painting Eagle-Owl, and read/listened to The Owl and the Pussycat.

I also talked about weeds in light of last Sunday's gospel reading, reviewed Stephen Fry's documentary on manic depression and wrote about encouraging the expression of doubt in religious ed.

  5. Two posts this week talking about philosophy, the 7th century dilemma of Caliph Omar, why Protestants cannot accept Catholic doctrine, being assaulted by porn and vulgarity in locals stores, and my mother.

As always, thanks to RAnn for hosting Sunday Snippets!

  9. I didn't receive an email yesterday about the Sunday Snippets post being up. The last email notice I received was July 16.

Anyone else have this problem, not receive email notification? I'm still listed as a member in the Yahoo! Group.
