Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival

I'd like to welcome everyone to Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  We are a group of Catholic bloggers who gather weekly to share our best posts with each other.  To particpate, go to your blog and create an entry titled Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  In it, highlight one or more of your posts from the past week that you believe would be of interest to Catholic bloggers---whether they are posts reflecting on spiritual matters or posts about antics of Catholic kids, or anything in between.  Come back here and enter the URL of that post below.  Finally, go visit other participants, and leave comments!  If you want a weekly reminder to post, join our yahoogroup.

I'd like to offer congratulations to our regular poster, Kathleen Basi, and to her husband on the birth of their son this week.  Say a prayer for him and them--he is in NICU with a pneumothorax and in a hospital (with Kathleen) a couple of hours from home so her husband is having to hold down the fort at home with the three kids.  They expect everything to be fine, but prayers couldn't hurt.

I've been too busy living life this week to spend too much time reading and blogging so blogging has been sparse.  I did finish a book by a local author set here in New Orleans.  I recommend  Baronne Street--its a thriller, not a romance.  My other review this week was a romantic thriller, but a novella.  Waiting for Dawn is Christian fiction.

I'd also like to ask for prayers for my son.  He wants a job (or at least doesn't want to go back to school) and  we had a meeting today with a vocational rehab counselor who works for the new group the state has hired to help him find and maintain a job.

We did our usual art, music and poetry and I wrote a piece about Quantum Physics and God.

  4. My prayers for your son and for Kathleen and her family as well.

Outside the Asylum: Made mountains out of two molehills, religious authority and sex education. So what I linked here is a filler piece on holiday special suckage. Verges a bit on strong language but doesn't quite get to profanity level, let alone obscenity.

The Impractical Catholic: Today I reintroduced a feature I hadn't used for some time ... "Ask Tony".

Thanks again for providing us this forum, RAnn!

  10. That is a worry we'll be confronting in a few years for Julianna...will definitely keep you both in prayers, Ruth! Thanks for letting everyone know our news--I'm up pumping at the hospital this a.m. and went, Oh! I need to link to Sunday Snippets! Can't let a little thing like a too-early C Section get in the way of that. :)

Thanks all for the good wishes.

  11. Medical advice on how to murder an unborn child, praises of Latin and good literature, the foolish verbosity of American educators, private school low-tech options, and the most disturbing thing I have read about Christianity in America...all that and more in this week's posts.

Kathleen and RAnn, you and your families have my prayers.
