No. I've heard many times that you don't lend out things it would bother you not to get back. The only books that stay in my house any length of time are those that I have some reason to want to keep forever. On the other hand, I give away a large number of books. I take stacks to work, give the kids' books to the school library and leave the religious books in the teacher's lounge in our parish school.
The last time I lent my daughter a book her dog ate it, Nough said.
