Weekend Link-Ups.

It's Monday

Lots of places to link up, but these seem to have the most bloggers who read things I enjoy--some of the other link-ups seem to attract a lot of readers of YA, horror, Manga or paranormal, just not my thing.  Have you found any real difference in the "personality" of the Sunday/Monday link-ups? How many do you link to and why?  I do these three; I started with Mailbox Monday, and then went with Book Journey because I could not only brag about the books I got, I could link to my reviews and I really like the more casual chatty style of The Sunday Post.

My NetGalley haul this week:
Innocence Lost - A Childhood Stolen

Stars Over Sunset Boulevard

This week on my blog I reviewed:

I didn't plan it this way, but I had a post this week talking about Christian morality the pluralistic society, which I thought was an interesting companion to my review of The Secrets She Kept.

Did you know I have two other other blogs?  I write about finances and investing at Racing Toward Retirement  and about my adventures as a Girl Scout Brownie Leader at A Brownie Leader's Journal.   Speaking of Brownies, my daughter is an older Girl Scout and they are going camping next weekend.  I'm going too--as a mother, not the leader.  I'm not in charge, I don't have to plan, do paperwork or chase kids.  This will be a first for me.  Please pray we get good weather.

I sort of followed along with the Blog Ahead Challenge which did motivate me to write a few posts.  I have a bunch pre-scheduled but most are reviews of books that aren't out yet or are meme posts.  I'm in awe of folks who said they got 30+ posts written.

Have a great week!

  1. I really like the Sunday Post too but since taking over the hosting of It's Monday! I find that is enough for me. I don't usually have enough books to jump into Mailbox Monday, though I guess I could do it but not every week. I like the It's Monday meme because that's where I found so many bloggers that I love to get book recommendations.
Enjoy your Girl Scout parent camp, always nice not to be in charge!

  2. It is interesting where our blogging paths take us! I first discovered It's Monday! What Are You Reading? when I started blogging, and J. Kaye was leading it. I followed along as it then went to Sheila, and now Kathryn.

Mailbox Monday came next...and in the past year, I discovered The Sunday Post. Oh, and I also link up to The Sunday Salon. Yikes...a lot of places. Stacking the Shelves is another recent one for me.

Enjoy! Your books look good...The Secrets She Kept sounds like my kind of read. Thanks for visiting my blog.

  4. I'm sending you and your daughter's troop good weather vibes. You are a great mama to volunteer for the camping trip. Some of your reads here look intense. They remind me of my tween recently asking about the Jewish Holocaust as it was mentioned in a book her 6th grade class is reading. So we had a small discussion on that.

  6. I try to combine a bunch of the memes into my It's Monday! post (new books, books I've read, and general blathering) but I only link to the one. Here is a summary of my week. Happy reading!
