Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival

I'd like to welcome you to Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  I just had a wonderful Saturday with my Daisy Girl Scout.  Our council runs an activity at one of our camps called "Daisy Day" (for the uninformed, Daisies are kindergarten and first grade Girl Scouts).  We rotated through activities that included hiking, crafts, playing on the river beach, playing games and singing and making a fire and s'mores.  My girls had a great time and so did I.  We couldn't have ordered better weather either.  Needless to say, not much reading or blogging got done here today, but that's ok (though I did squeeze in some extra reading time Friday by using up half a day of vacation).

What did you post about this week?  Create a post entitled "Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival and in it highlight your posts from this week.  Include a link to this post.  Then, sign Mr. Linky so we can all check it out.  Don't forget to visit other folks.  If you'd like a weekly reminder to post, join our yahoogroup.

I was on a roll last weekend and managed to finish and blog about several books.  Many of you commented on my review of Michale Coogan's God & Sex.   I really enjoyed Joy to World, written by Sunday Snippets regular Kathleen Basi.  It is a guide to celebrating Advent at home, especially with small kids.  I also posted a couple of blog tours and wrote about some library books, so feel free to poke around while  you are here.

I'm also trying to get a discussion going regarding healthcare, and invite you to add your 2 or 3 cents worth.

  4. Thanks RAnn! You are great in keeping it going every week. I just want to point out our new project called Dominicans Interactive. This side is going to give all kinds of Catholic input through text and video.

  5. Thanks, RAnn, for hosting this! Lots of posts this last week for me: a literate life in the midst of a hectic existence, helping boys love to read, the Protestant/Catholic split foreshadowed in 1 Kings chapters 12 and 13, and a look at what Finland is doing right about education. Quite the eclectic week!

  9. Thanks, RAnn! I love this, and miss it when I don't get to participate! Lots of varied things for me this week, but there does seem to be a central theme of toilets. don't know what that says about me!

  10. This week on Sunday Snippets, WBN presents: Knowing is Believing.

Kids say the funniest things sometimes. Catholic Dads Online sat down with three of the Nodling girls, Blynken, Nod-girl, and Nib, to see what they had to say on matters of the Faith. It is in that spirit that we present to you: Interview With The Nodlings.

Nib is three years old so our interview was necessarily short.

CDO: Do you know who Jesus is?
    Nib: Jesus Christ!
CDO: Yes, that's right. What else?
Nib: Daddy, look at the cat!

The other girl Nodlings were a little more on topic.[...]
