I'd like to welcome everyone to Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival. We are a group of Catholic bloggers who gather weekly to share our best posts with each other. To particpate, go to your blog and create an entry titled Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival. In it, highlight one or more of your posts from the past week that you believe would be of interest to Catholic bloggers---whether they are posts reflecting on spiritual matters or posts about antics of Catholic kids, or anything in between. Come back here and enter the URL of that post into Mr. Linky. Finally, go visit other participants, and leave comments! If you want a weekly reminder to post, join our yahoogroup.
I've spent more time reading this week than writing but I'll call your attention to two book reviews: God Gave Us the World is a children's book about how God made us and the world in which we live--told from the viewpoint of a bear. The Dressmaker of Khair Khana is memoir of how an Afghani woman supported her family and neighbors via a sewing business while the Taliban was in power.
Hope you have a great week. I'll try to pre-schedule next week's post, but next Saturday I'm taking my Girl Scout troop camping, so if I don't get the post up early, it probably won't go up until the middle of the day Sunday. Please pray we have nice weather!

Stop by www.momsdevotional.blogspot.com to see what this past week's lectionary readings had to say about our amazing Lord and Savior, the models we have for parenting in His parents, and how we treat those in our home.
ReplyDeleteGreat reviews this week, RAnn! I will definitely pray that you have great weather for the girl scouts camping trip next Saturday. Hope you all have a good time!
ReplyDeleteMy prayers coming your way! Have a wonderful time with the girls. What fun! You sure do contribute good stuff to life, dear faithful host.
ReplyDeleteTwo relatively short posts, one on language, the other on the Miracle of the Loaves & Fishes.
ReplyDeleteI pray you have good weather, RAnn!
ReplyDeleteThis week, we listened to Hildegard Von Bingen, looked at the gorgeous 9' monstrance made by Stefan Niedorezo, and read poetry by Mechthild of Magdeburg. We also read scripture on the Presentation and Hospitality. Also this week, we talked about Candelmas, my new Catholic Twitter feed, and watched a video that illustrated what it would look like if other planets were as close to the earth as the moon.
Thanks again, RAnn!
ReplyDeletePrayers and good thoughts your way!!
Hugs
Ebeth
Modern education, gay marriage, our daughter's 6th birthday, and Ford Mustangs...all that and more in last week's posts.
ReplyDeleteGod bless the hostess! This week was the start of the new semester, and my posts necessarily suffered in the face of increased responsibility...nonethess, managed a post in the early Sunday hours.
ReplyDeleteHappy Chinese New Year! I found a very fascinating conversion story told in a pictures and it's very good. Also a little on the Shroud of Turin and the 3-D rendering that gives you a pretty good idea of what our Lord looked like.
ReplyDeleteNew ecclesial movements, secularity and the Church, and the unique mission of Blessed Chiara Badano's parents.
ReplyDeleteThanks, RAnn!

The book about the Afghan woman sounds really interesting. So glad you have this book review apostolate.
ReplyDeleteNot much blog activity this week;
ReplyDeletejust my booklist and a post
about a partly vague, partly vivid
childhood memory.
Thanks for hosting. I think #22, "Reverse Cell Phone Lookup" is spam ... and not even worthwhile advice, either.
