Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival

I'd like to welcome everyone to Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  We are a group of Catholic bloggers who gather weekly to share our best posts with each other.  To particpate, go to your blog and create an entry titled Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  In it, highlight one or more of your posts from the past week that you believe would be of interest to Catholic bloggers---whether they are posts reflecting on spiritual matters or posts about antics of Catholic kids, or anything in between.  Come back here and enter the URL of that post below.  Finally, go visit other participants, and leave comments!  If you want a weekly reminder to post, join our yahoogroup.

I'm glad to have everyone here, and just want to remind you that posts linked below should contain a link back here.

I posted two book reviews this week.  River's Call is a novel dealing with the age-old problem of parenting adult kids.  The Sacraments in Scripture teaches the prayer form of Lectio Divina and gives the scriptural basis for the sacraments.

  1. Thank you so much for hosting, RAnn!
This week, I have a post about my concerns
about how far the culture of death could take us,
two posts about the Susan G. Komen Foundation
    [good news that turned sour!],
several posts about my collections, and,
as always, my weekly book list.

  2. Thank you RAnn for hosting our snippets.

This week flew by but I did write some poetry and do some blogging.

The Church is such a treasure and overflowing with prayers and forms. I do have to get refreshed and Lectio Divina is a rich feast for the soul.

Hope all is well with everyone.

  5. 3 catechetical posts, none of penitential length.

On the Prodigal son; on February; and on the Loaves & Fishes.

  6. I can't believe it's Sunday Snippets time already!

This week I'm sharing some monthly goals for February, a cheeseburger pie recipe, a snippet about the Presentation of our Lord and some information about the 7 Sundays Devotion to Saint Joseph which starts this Sunday.

    Have a good week!

  7. Thanks for hosting, RAnn!

Usury, First Amendment rights, the Komen debacle ... and a great spoof of Planned Barrenhood by Kristi Burton Brown! What a week it's been! This will be my last week of having all day to write (I start work on 2/13), so hopefully this next week will bring lots of good material to write about.

(Word verification: besseni. "I am waiting for Besseni!" "You certainly are a meanie.")

  8. What a week! The math of abortion, creationism, the toxic environment for teachers in public schools, why people are ant-creationism, what no one else said about Komen, and two poems (Alexander Pope's and my own) about seven year-old girls...all that and more in this week's posts.

Thanks for hosting, RAnn! Can't wait to read what some of your other contributors have posted.
