Hello, and welcome to Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival. We are a group of Catholic bloggers who gather weekly to share our best posts with each other. To participate, go to your blog and create a post titled Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival. In it, discuss and link to your posts for the week--whether they deal with theology, Catholic living or cute Catholic kids. I'm mostly a book blogger so my posts are generally book reviews, some Catholic, some not. Make sure that post links back here. Once you publish it, come back here and leave a link below.
We also have a yahoogroup; signing up for it will get you one weekly reminder to post. Click here to sign up.
Question of the Week: School will be starting this week in many places (and may have even started last week). Do you think school should start this soon, or would you rather see it last longer in the spring? (yea, I'm getting desperate for questions)
Stopping school before Memorial Day (actually as soon as possible after state testing) seems to be the rage around here, and then school resumes in early to mid-August. If nothing else, I think the schools would save money by going later in the spring and remaining closed during August, the most miserably hot month we have. Yes, you have to air condition in May, but my power bills (and I assume the schools' too) are worse in August than in May. Given that few schools complain of having too much money, this seems like an easy way to save without cutting services or salaries.
We just enjoyed the last week of our summer vacation at Disney World.
While I was gone, two posts published: I reviewed a clean romance set in a small town. I also continued my series on Lending Club. I have a couple of Catholic books I'll review in the next week or two, promise!
Thanks for hosting, RAnn! This week I have the latest addition to my Rosary Art Collection, a post about brand loyalty, my fan fiction, and, of course, my book list.
