Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival

I'd like to welcome everyone to Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  We are a group of Catholic bloggers who gather weekly to share our best posts with each other.  To particpate, go to your blog and create an entry titled Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  In it, highlight one or more of your posts from the past week that you believe would be of interest to Catholic bloggers---whether they are posts reflecting on spiritual matters or posts about antics of Catholic kids, or anything in between.  Come back here and enter the URL of that post below.  Finally, go visit other participants, and leave comments!  If you want a weekly reminder to post, join our yahoogroup.

We've had lovely warm weather most of this winter but this weekend, now that parade season is officially underway, it is cold and windy.  I'm staying home, warm, with a good book.  My parade fanatic husband is out chasing floats.  Hope he has fun.

On a sadder note, Ellen Gable Hrkach, a Sunday Snippets regular, just lost her father-in-law.  Please pray for him and the family.

This week I blogged about a novel that I loved and about one featuring a Catholic setting and Catholic characters.

  4. Ellen,my condolences, and while that may sound solemn and sad, I know God is carrying your loved one in death and new life, as he did on earth, and that means he is being loved by Love.

    RAnn thank you once again.

  5. Thank you, as always, RAnn for hosting Sunday Snippets so faithfully!

This week I talked about my weekly goals, my perspective on the HHS Mandate, what the Catholic Church teaches about marriage and for 7QT I shared my favorite ways for getting free books. :)

  7. Thanks again for hosting, RAnn!

This week I wrote way too much about the HHS mandate, so I focused on three posts that weren't about the perfidy of the Obamination: the "98%" meme, a post about domestic violence/rape, and a neat little story my cousin sent me whose moral is "The best is yet to come!"

Again, Ellen, as I said on Twitter, I'm sorry for your loss, and will be praying for you and your family.

Ellen, you and your family are in my prayers.
This week, I share a homily by Fr. Mitch Pacwa,
news about EWTN's lawsuit against the government,
something about my mornings, PLENTY about my collections, and, as always, my weekly book list.

  9. Thank you, RAnn, for inviting me to be a part of this nice group once again. Tomorrow's post is my commentary on the state of society and an appeal to "Godly womanhood." May Almighty God bless you and Our Lady protect you.

  10. A brutal week at work limited me to one post about sexism and illogic in the HHS mandate disaster. More next week.
