Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival

I'd like to welcome everyone to Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  We are a group of Catholic bloggers who gather weekly to share our best posts with each other.  To particpate, go to your blog and create an entry titled Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  In it, highlight one or more of your posts from the past week that you believe would be of interest to Catholic bloggers---whether they are posts reflecting on spiritual matters or posts about antics of Catholic kids, or anything in between.  Come back here and enter the URL of that post into Mr. Linky.  Finally, go visit other participants, and leave comments!  If you want a weekly reminder to post, join our yahoogroup.

I have a lot of book reviews that have published this week--some I wrote this week, some are older.  You can see my sidebar for a complete list, but I'd like to call your attention to A Reluctant Queen, Biblical fiction about Queen Esther.  Churches are made of volunteers and usually need money, so you may find A Volunteer's Guide to Fundraising to be useful.  I'm giving away a copy of Broken Wings (well, actually the publisher is, but I'm running the giveaway).  To show that I'm human and want to get even, I call your attention to my post about my soon-to-be-ex bank.

Last week I ran a giveaway of  Mother Teresa, CEO: Unexpected Principles for Practical Leadership (Bk Business)   Kathleen Basi won.  Katheen, please email me your mailing address so the publisher can send you your new book.

My subscription to Mr. Linky is about to run out.  I changed the lists from the last few weeks to html, and this week I'm using inlinkz, a new free linking service.  Let's see how it works.

  2. A shocking total of four posts; only the last two are catechetical in nature.

The most recent discusses the use of the umlaut in German. Inquiring minds want to know.

Then a post on a recent cruise.

And a post on three verses from the Ax of the Apostles.

Finally, a discussion of the Bible phrase "priesthood of believers" and its implications for Catholics.

  3. Thank you so much for hosting, RAnn.
This week, I have a post about Dr. Kevorkian, a few mini-posts, a classic silent movie, and my usual book list.
My Meme, "Hobby Talk Tuesday", will be up again on Monday night.

  5. I feel kind of bad because I haven't managed to read or post about last week's Sunday Snippets yet. I can participate again, though, with my post about how Catholic we ought to be in our everyday lives.

  7. This week we are still doing Vivaldi's Gloria.

We also had a semi-Memorial Day themed poem and painting as well as a post about a bird revolution in my yard.

I also am posting a video of the prayers for each day of the Holy Spirit Novena that began on Ascension and ends on Pentecost.

  8. Thanks for hosting, RAnn. The link system worked fine.

Posts this week talked about a fantastic philosophy blog and podcast, an 1886 essay that speaks to our present age of distraction, and a conversation about Catholicism among Protestants.
