Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival

I'd like to welcome everyone to Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  We are a group of Catholic bloggers who gather weekly to share our best posts with each other.  To particpate, go to your blog and create an entry titled Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  In it, highlight one or more of your posts from the past week that you believe would be of interest to Catholic bloggers---whether they are posts reflecting on spiritual matters or posts about antics of Catholic kids, or anything in between.  Come back here and enter the URL of that post below.  Finally, go visit other participants, and leave comments!  If you want a weekly reminder to post, join our yahoogroup.

I've put up quite a few book reviews this week, most of which are junky romance  novels.  However there are two books I'd like to call to your attention:  Home and Away is about a lawyer who feels called to join the Army, despite the fact that he has a good job, a wife and two kids.  I'd Choose You is a cute kids' book.

  1. Thanks for hosting, RAnn. I've got a couple of health-related posts this week as well as spiritual reflections.

  2. Hi RAnn, thanks once again for faithfully hosting Sunday Snippets!

My most notable post this week is the advice I've been seeking in helping my 6 year old who is learning to read.

Wishing all the dads a happy Father's Day and a blessed feast of the Trinity to all. :)

  3. The number 7 is significant in both the Bible and the Church.

But why 7? Inquiring minds want to know.

  4. Nothing huge from me this week, just a reflection inspired by someone else's post about how Catholic myths have evolved to fit the 21st century.

I've been catching up on so many past Sunday Snippets that I didn't write as much original content as I did commentary. I'm not sure whether that's really good or bad, though.

  5. Thanks once again for hosting, RAnn.
This week, I have a post about St. Anthony, a brief comment about a rather nice coincidence ("Pollyanna's Wedding Day"), a link to a disturbing article about a survey some 7th graders were required to take, my usual book list, and a new, or rather, revised widget, "Crafting and Collecting".
