Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival

I'd like to welcome everyone to Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  We are a group of Catholic bloggers who gather weekly to share our best posts with each other.  To particpate, go to your blog and create an entry titled Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  In it, highlight one or more of your posts from the past week that you believe would be of interest to Catholic bloggers---whether they are posts reflecting on spiritual matters or posts about antics of Catholic kids, or anything in between.  Come back here and enter the URL of that post below.  Finally, go visit other participants, and leave comments!  If you want a weekly reminder to post, join our yahoogroup.

Happy Kings Day (a day late).  Hope everyone enjoyed their first King Cake of the season.  Ours was black and gold for obvious reasons (picked out by my seven year old).  I took our Christmas stuff down this morning and then went out this afternoon and bought my new sofa.  It is an olive green reclining sofa.  I'm just not a beige/brown person and it looks great with the Turkish rug we have in the den.

I'm glad to have everyone here, and just want to remind you that posts linked below should contain a link back here.

This week I reviewed a book by a woman who left the Missionaries of Charity, Blessed Mother Teresa's order.  I was disappointed.  I also read an Amish romance, which didn't quite click with me. Nevertheless, I'm giving away a copy of it, and several other Amish books.

  1. Thank you RAnn for hosting and the happy greeting.

I took it a bit easy this week. Call it recuperation to be kind.

Blessings on everybody's week; Ill add a "Hail Mary" to that.

  2. Thanks so much for hosting, RAnn!
This week, I have a warning about a fake Facebook invitation (it's a virus!), a couple of homilies by Fr. Wade Menezes, a couple of childhood memories, a link to another Adoration site, an addition to my Rosary Art collection, and, of course, my weekly book list.

  3. Thanks for hosting, RAann! I posted a reflection on the Beloved Disciple and one on consuming Christ vs. "stuff". I also gave a link to a Saint of the year generator, and posted a great spiritual journaling/scripture resource from a Coptic church in DC.

I've got the usual art, music and poetry as well.

  5. I've been away for a couple of weeks and it's good to be back. I missed checking everyone's roundups. :)

This week I talked about goals for the New Year, devotion to the childhood of Jesus, my usual monthly "check-up" and 7QT.

1/7 Mary is more spacious than a tea party.

  10. Hello, RAnn! Thank you for hosting!

This week was largely political; I'm posting again on Catholic Bandita, so Lisa Graas is pushing me into primary politics! :^)=) But I found time to talk about David Clohessy, Sharia and the latest news in the Occupy Whatever movement.

    Have a great week!

  11. We were away on vacation last week, so only two posts last week. They were about reading in the new year, quiet focus on God, and the necessity of some taboos in society. Thanks for hosting this, RAnn!

  12. TV for Catholics has reviews of "Homeland" and "Work it." One is good, one is a crime against humanity.

  15. Hi there,
I hope you don't mind that I linked Sunday Snippets in my Catholic Link-Up directory called CathoLINK LIBRARY here: http://www.equippingcatholicfamilies.com/p/catho-link-library.html
I hope that you check it out and I hope that lots of people use it as a resource! It's great to round up our Catholic link-up parties to support Catholic bloggers. Please let me know if you find out about other Catholic link-up parties that are not in the directory yet...and please tell your friends!
    Thanks! Monica
