Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival

I'd like to welcome everyone to Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  We are a group of Catholic bloggers who gather weekly to share our best posts with each other.  To particpate, go to your blog and create an entry titled Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival.  In it, highlight one or more of your posts from the past week that you believe would be of interest to Catholic bloggers---whether they are posts reflecting on spiritual matters or posts about antics of Catholic kids, or anything in between.  Use that post to link to your original posts, as I linked to the Advent posts above.   Come back here and enter the URL of that post into Mr. Linky.  Finally, go visit other participants, and leave comments!  If you want a weekly reminder to post, join our yahoogroup.

I'm sitting here listening to the Saint's Game and so far I'm not impressed.  Not what I wanted to see today.  I started Weight Watchers this morning--pray for me, please, its a change I need to make.

I've read several books this week, but most are for tours scheduled in the future.  However, I did review The Archbishop Wore Combat Boots.

What about you?  What have you been writing about this week?

  1. Happy New Year! I will pray for you! I need to do the same! I posted about Coming Home and A Downpour of Love. God bless!

  2. Praying for you RAnn. The New Year is always good for new beginnings. I'm starting a diet as well. It's my third day. Prayers are welcome.

  3. A shocking number of posts, from most recent to oldest:

    Bug Eater, from a recent class on John da Baptis'

    Behold the West, about my vacation, sort of...or something.

    The Catholic Imagination.

    XmaSnaX, from a recent class about the Immaculate Conception.

  4. This week I blogged about Guy Lombardo, Peder Mork Monsted, and Robert Frost, as well as the Feast of the Epiphany, and the mercy and love of God.

  5. I've been blogging about my daily Bible readings, a few book reviews and of course some daily life stuff :-)

  6. Liberalism, the King James Version of the Bible, the importance of translation, public education, and the duty of the state...all this and more in last week's posts! Have fun reading!

  7. Guess I'm surprised at how many Catholics don't know that Benedict XVI began (Bible) Study Groups many years ago, so I posted on our group...

  8. Happy New Year and thanks for posting Sunday Snippets.

  9. My mom started weight watchers and she's doing really good on it. I'll definitely pray that you are a successful loser.

  10. Hi RAnn, My sister lost 60 lbs. in a little over a year on Weight Watchers. I'll pray for your success.

    This week I wrote a book review on Susan Boyle's autobiography, some interesting stuff on the Epiphany and on St. Simeon Stylites. Hope everyone enjoys my musings.

  11. Just two posts this week. Back to was rough. One post on some of the graces from confession and the other on whatever - life.

    Watched the ending of the Saints game here. The Superbowl was something special, but it just wasn't meant to be this year. Sad to see it end, but they weren't going to go so far this year.

    Been wondering about the Archbishop's book. Thanks!

  12. Thanks, RAnn for always doing this. I love your book reviews, too!

    Hugs and Ordinary time blessings!

  13. Three posts this week, including my weekly book list.
    RAnn, thank you so much for hosting!

  14. This week on Sunday Snippets, WBN presents: Rib Ticklers.

    * 24:15 Rib Ticklers
    * Literature Busts
    * Eighth Beer Of Christmas
