Book Blogger Hop.

This week's question: Book blogging is more than just reading. Who helped you set up or run your blog? Or did you do it all yourself?

I did it all by my lonesome, with help from lots of folks.  The help wasn't necessarily in the form of direct aid so much as seeing things I liked and copying them.  Even if I didn't participate in things like Blogiesta I'd read posts to see what people were doing to their blogs and do it too.  A few weeks ago I found this hop and added it to my blog. Most of my changes over the years can be credited to things like that--I'd see it, I'd like it and I'd try to do it too.  It was through other bloggers (too many to name, names long forgotten) that I've learned about review copies and the sources thereof, various memes and blog hops, how to write reviews, how to add things to my sidebars, how to make money from Amazon (ok not too much of that) and just about everything beyond the basic blogger template.

Head on over to Coffee Addicted Writer to see how other folks responded.

  1. I do mine alone as well, but if you have a question, the answer is only a book blogger away.

    Book Bloggers are the BEST.

Wow, there are lots of us out here who did it by our selves. I guess it's a great thing because we learned to do things for ourselves and even pass along the knowledge to others.

But yes, I totally love ARCs!!!

  4. Yep, that's pretty much how I did it, too -- by seeing things I liked on other blogs, and then transferring them to my own blog.

As you know from my post, I did use a book about getting started with Blogger (the blogging platform I use), because I am by no means a computer geek. After that, I began learning from other bloggers.

Thanks for recommending the photo editing software! I was not aware that anything similar to Photoshop existed, and for FREE!!!

Also, thanks for stopping by and commenting on my BBH post!! : )

  5. It's amazing how much you can learn by observing and doing! Great blog! I love your header. Is the picture taken from somewhere in your house? If so, I'm envious!

  6. Yeah I pretty much taught myself too! I did a lot of blog searching and got some ideas but I generally stuck with most of my own with some old mixed in.

  7. I'm a newbie blogger compared to you - my blog is only four months old. And I do it all by myself like you - I'm still in the learning process.
