My Review: Mrs. Miracle

Mrs. Miracle is a Christmas book by Debbie Macomber. If you are at all familiar with her books, you know that means it is sweet, heartwarming, and requires a healthy suspension of disbelief. This book features Seth, a widower with twin six year olds. The book begins with his third housekeeper quitting. Shortly thereafter Mrs. Marckle arrives, and gets the whole situation under control. Seth meets Reba, who was terribly hurt by her sister and fiancee about the same time Seth's wife died. They are two hurting people afraid to heal and they fall for each other (you can't tell me that's a spoiler). Seth's in-laws are contemplating divorce after forty years of marriage. Somehow Mrs. Marckle (the kids call her Mrs. Miracle) manages things so that everyone lives happily ever after.

Tonite I was in the mood for a light quick read and this filled the bill perfectly-- pure feel-good fluff, easy to read and no brain engagement necessary. It contains a Christmas message of forgiveness and healing and of love conquering all--just the thing to leave you smiling before bed. I knew there was a reason I keep my Bookmooch account even with all the review books filling my mailbox.

  1. I love Debbie Macomber's books! I like light reading sometimes too. Her books are great for that and they leave you with a feel good, warm feeling.

Thanks for letting us know about this new one. It sounds like a great fall or winter read.
